ISO VG 1000 synthesized hydrocarbon fluid does not contain any extreme pressure (EP) additives, but exhibits similar performance characteristics to EP lubricants. Non-ep lubricants are recommended for use where yellow metal corrosion is a concern, and this doesn’t contain additives that attack yellow metals such as brass, bronze, or copper.
